I realize I should have overseeded my lawn a few weeks ago, but was not able to get to it. Is it too late (ie. a waste of time) to do it now? If yes, when is the best time? Thanks.

The best time to overseed your lawn is in the fall, when the soil is still warm but the air is cooler and there is considerably more precipitation. Spring is the second best time.
I would recommend to try and get it done by this weekend. We still have nice mild, warm weather through the end of the month which should allow for a robust germination going into November with the right amount of watering.
