Larch bonsai tree *

(Question)

Hello,
I’ve got a larch bonsai and I’m not sure how to take care of it. The tree is in a good shape but is slowly growing out of its pot and maybe needs new soil. Would you please suggest some literature I can read. I would also appreciate in person consultation if possible. Thank you.

Thank you  for contacting the Toronto Master Gardeners.

How encouraging to see your tree developing well to the extent of outgrowing its pot. The following websites offer excellent information on bonsai care, including detailed instructions on when and how to repot and recipes for the correct growing medium for your larch.

The Toronto Bonsai Society  https://torontobonsai.org/ has an informative website with much cultural information. The Society meets monthly at The Toronto Botanical Garden where you could arrange to have a personal consultation with a bonsai expert.

In addition, the Toronto Master Gardeners has a fact sheet with cultural information:

We wish you much pleasure and success with your bonsai.
