Your best bet would be to order your poppy seeds on line from a reputable seed company. You could also check the seed section at your local garden centre.
The following will help to ensure that your seeds grow into beautiful poppy flowers.
- Sow seeds outdoors in the fall or winter in a location with full sun. Most poppies require a period of stratification, or a period of exposure to cold, before they will germinate.
- Due to their tiny size, the seeds just need to be sprinkled along the surface when sowing out doors . They need to light to germinate so do not cover with soil.
- After the seedlings start to sprout in the spring, you may wish to separate the ones that are growing too close to 6 inches to a foot apart.
