I am thinking to plant a tree in my yard, but don’t know what I should plant. So I would like to test my soil in order to know what tree the soil is best for. So would you let me know how your test works, and/or where I should send my soil sample (I live in Vaughan).
We’ve got various responses posted you can read through, “Soil testing”, which includes links to resources that advise how to test your soil.
There are also several other issues to consider besides soil when figuring out which tree to plant. Another resource, Planting a tree: A Toronto Master Gardeners Guide, includes information about selecting the tree you want (that suits the space you have), when/how to plant it, amending the soil, watering, etc.
