I am not sure if I can explain properly but I have a young apricot tree I bought an year ago. Now I can see leaf and growth but main branch that goes straight up broke during bad season last year. It is growing sideways and all. Will the main branch come back again and grow?
I can send a picture upon request.
It can be distressing to lose the central “leader” but don’t give up on your tree, it can still be beautiful and productive. Apricot trees can be trained to a more open vase shape and this is, in fact, a more natural way for apricots to grow. It will require pruning on a regular basis to promote fruit production and to keep it to a manageable size.
