(Question)

How do I get rid of Japanese beetles in the garden?  Also, I want to get rid of the wasps near the back door.

(Answer)

For  the Japanese beetles, get a small pail of water with about 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap and a about 1 tablespoon of bleach.  Put the pail under the beetle and try to drop the beetles into the pail of water –  you have to be quick as they will fly away.    Or you can buy Japanese beetle traps at the local garden centre I don’t know the price and follow directions on how they work.

For the wasps – Get a spray bottle and put in water a bit of liquid dish soap a few drops of Peppermint extract and spray the critters but only in the evening when they have settled in for the night. Make sure you are well clothed in case one or two come out of the hive in case they attack. You may have to do this several times before the hive is dead then you can gently remove it OR you can buy a spay to kill them faster but again cloth yourself properly and follow directions.
