(Question)

Hello,
Kindly help me identify what type of flowering tree this is (see photo). It has a lovely flower on it at this time of year.

This looks like a red flowering form of the common Horsechestnut, or Aesculus hippocastanum. There are several red hybrids and cultivars. It is a non-native tree and “Not recommended because:  Native species adapted to our local environment are always preferred to introduced species which often contribute little to our ecology and the web of life that sustains us.”
