How to recover from bad pruning

(Question)

I recently moved into my house and have pruned the branches on the grape trees in my backyard.  Now their is juice coming out of where I pruned. How can I do to help the trees recover from this mistake?

Hi, gardener,

It was probably simply the wrong time of year to prune your grapevine (Vitis vinifera), and the bleeding you see is the result. It will likely stop on its own. Next time, prune your grape vines in early spring:

Here’s information that explains bleeding pruning cuts:

We hope this helps!
