I want to plant a quick growing vine over a trellis on the outside of 2 of my south-west facing windows; that is, 2 separate trellises (sp?) and 2 separate plants. (I have a large clematis that shades part of another window.) They would provide exterior shading; very energy efficient.
Silver lace? Too uncontrollable?
Thanks for your suggestions.
Your initial choice of clematis is an excellent one! It is a perennial and that leafs out early. Further, there are many types of clematis, so that you could plant several varieties in order to have spring, mid-summer and later summer flowers on all both trellises. You would achieve continuous beauty and shade.
