I am living in a newly built subdivision (lots of clay) and am looking for a lawn replacement. I currently don’t have anything there besides compacted soil/clay/weeds. There is lots of sun. We get harsh winters -35C or so (similar Edmonton but close to the Saskatchewan boarder). I’ve been interested in white clover/ microclover for the ease, foot traffic hardiness, watering and maintenance side of things. Does clover have to be mixed with grass seed? Or can it be planted by itself? Also, will it return every year? Thanks.
