Why are my morning glory leaves turning yellow. They are in a pot up against a west facing rock wall.
Las Cruces, NM
My goodness, Las Cruces, New Mexico is a long way from Toronto, where we usually help gardeners! Welcome to our website.
But morning glories are morning glories wherever they grow. And it is normal for them to lose their lower leaves as they age. The leaves turn yellow, then brown, and drop off. Morning glory requires 6 hours of sunlight including morning sun if they get less or no morning sun, yellow leaves can occur. A sudden change to cooler night time temperatures can also cause leaves to yellow. Also the soil must be kept moist, not too wet or too dry about 1 inch of water per week. If the vine is still growing well and blooming, then I think that what you are seeing is just this natural process.
