Given to me by my neighbour Anna. It flowers in the fall and has large flowers about 3/12 ins in diameter and it comes up every year. It grows to about 4 ft in height. Please can you tell me the name of this plant. Thanks Lorrie
This is a Heliopsis, or commonly called “False Sunflower” it is a member of the large Aster family which also includes daisies.
These are tough, prairie plants; they are drought tolerant, and easily adapted to many soil conditions. These are the work horses of a summer garden, just give them some sun and they will bloom for 4 to 6 weeks. Below is a link giving more information on these essential summer flowers.
