Name of plant – Plant ID –

Given to me by my neighbour Anna. It flowers in the fall and has large flowers about 3/12 ins in diameter and it comes up every year. It grows to about 4 ft in height. Please can you tell me the name of this plant. Thanks Lorrie

This is a Heliopsis, or commonly called “False Sunflower”  it is a member of the large Aster family which also includes daisies.

These are tough, prairie plants; they are drought tolerant, and easily adapted to many soil conditions.  These are the work horses of a summer garden, just give them some sun and they will bloom for 4 to 6 weeks.  Below is a link giving more information on these essential summer flowers.
