Plant Identification-Datura – STATS ONLY

(Question)

This plant has shown up in different gardens in Manitouwadge, Ontario not sure if from Bird seed from feeding birds but I know of 2 different gardens now that it is in. was only able to send one picture but I do have 3 it has a pretty lilac colored bell shaped flower on it. One lady thought might be sweet potatoe vine but I don’t think so thanks so much if you can help

This plant looks to be Datura stramonium, also known as Jimson weed or Devil’s snare.   It is an invasive plant.  Information on its toxicity can be found here:

As a side note, the flowers are pretty, as you say.  So much so that they inspired Georgia O’Keefe to paint them; one of her valuable works is titled, ‘Jimson Weed’.
