I purchased this plant at a discount which is great but because it has no label, I am unable to determine light and soil requirements to plant it. Can you please identify this plant for me?
Your very pretty unlabelled plant is most likely an English daisy (Bellis perennis), a low-growing perennial of which there are many single- and double-flowered varieties, including several pink-to-red cultivars, such as the Galaxy Series and Bellissima Rose, ‘Tasso Strawberries & Cream’ and ‘Tasso Pink’. English daisies are often grown as biennial plants, sown in one year so they will flower the next, then self-seeding to reproduce. English daisies thrive in full sun to partial shade and require average moisture. They bloom throughout the late spring and early summer, but frequent deadheading will keep them reliably in flower throughout the entire summer. As a biennial, your English daisy is now in its second year. Once it has flowered, your plant will set seeds and then die. Any seeds that germinate and take root in your garden will form the next generation, so if you wish to keep your English daisy on, make a note of where it is growing and watch for its seedlings in the spring.
