Please tell me what “ribbon grass” is.
Ribbon grass is an ornamental grass which was very popular some years ago. Also known as “Gardeners’ Garters”, its botanical name is Phalaris arundinacea. Most often used in its variegated (green and white) form, it is a good plant for almost any soil and moisture condition, in sun or shade. HOWEVER, it has fallen out of favour for a good reason … it is quite invasive, spreading quickly and difficult to control. Use it carefully, ideally, in a shady area where it may be somewhat easy to manage.
