Hi there, we just bought a new house, and there is a sad looking shrub in our small south facing front yard (it is less of a yard and more of a terraced front stoop about 8 feet wide x 4 feet deep. Gets a lot of sun during the day save for some shade from a linden tree). I don’t know what this is and am hoping to bring it nurse it back to health – about 20% of the branches have no leaves and part of the main trunk looks dead. Any idea what it is and how I can help it? thank you for your help!
At first glance this appears to be a sickly rhododendron. However some of the leaves seem to resemble a Euonymus fortunei.
