Recognizing this shrub from the photo is rather difficult. It could be a chokeberry bush (Aronia melanocarpa). The fruit of this plant hang in clusters, the berries are about 1/4ins wide and are purplish black in colour. Leaves on this shrub turn red in the Fall. Conducting an image search in Google using the terms “shrubs purple black berries” and then perusing the photos may help identify your plant if you do not believe it is a chokeberry.
