Dear gardener,

What you have here is a tropical called Jatropha podagrica – known by various English names as Buddha belly, tartogo, bottle plant, nettle spurge, Guatemala rhubarb and others.

This plant is a succulent native to Central America from the Euphorbia (Spurge) family.

Please be aware that all parts of this plant are poisonous; therefore, if you decide to purchase one, make sure that it is placed away from children and pets.
