Hi there. Nobody can tell me what type of tree this is. This picture was taken in early June, in Toronto. Shortly after this time the flowers fall off. Thanks for your help!
What a lovely specimen you have found! This is the Fringe Tree, Old Man’s Beard, or Chionanthus virginicus, which is becoming increasingly popular in Toronto gardens, for good reason, since it is suitable in scale for urban plots, is hardy and doesn’t seem to be vulnerable to pest or disease.
