Cabbagetown Garden Tour Features Toronto Master Gardeners

On Sunday, June 8, Toronto Master Gardeners were pleased to participate in the Cabbagetown Preservation Association’s annual Hidden Gardens & Private Spaces Tour.  Master Gardeners were on duty answering questions in three of the exquisite gardens, as well as visiting the other seven.

In addition to charming Victorian houses, this heritage district boasts many enchanting gardens, with features such as Guernsey Cream clematis spilling over an entrance arch, a painted garden shed with stenciled trellis and – atop the Hugh Garner Cooperative – a remarkable rooftop garden. Surprisingly mature, with full-grown trees and shrubs, that garden is a place where co-op members can garden, socialize, relax with friends and family and enjoy a stunning city view.
