Bulbs

(Question)

hello
I’m wondering if I can wait to plant my alliums and tulips next week when the weather is a little warmer for me to get outside or am I already late and should get them in the garden asap. Also, should I cover them in my unheated garage because it is so cold at night right now?
Thank you
jane

Thank you for your question.

You can plant your bulbs generally anytime from September to December as long as you can still dig into the ground to plant them.  However ideally they should be planted 6 weeks prior to the ground freezing.  You can safely store them in the garage until you are ready to plant.
