Identify Flowering Plant

(Question)

This plant is growing in my flower bed, didn’t plant it. Can you identify it. Thanks

(Answer)

The plant that has appeared in your garden is Hoary Alyssum (Berteroa incana) a weed (or wildflower, depending on your point of view) that spreads rapidly by seed.

It is best to dig it out thoroughly to make sure you get the crown and put the plant in your garbage, not your compost. Next year, be vigilant about seedlings that may appear, since the parent has been shedding seeds all this summer.
