Planting new Hellebores

(Question)

I have just purchased 3 beautiful Hellebores from your sale.
Can I plant them before May 24?

Thank you.

Thank you for contacting the Toronto Master Gardeners concerning the planting of your Hellebores.

We have an excellent post to this very question:  When to plant perennials. Once you are ready to plant, make sure to plant your hellebores in a sheltered, semi-shade, well drained location in rich soil. The crown of the plant should be just covered with soil as planting them too deep can inhibit flower production. Once planted, water them regularly each week during the growing season for the first year. Then, water as needed to keep the soil moist but not wet.
