(Question)
My 15 year old willow tree has most of its branches on one side thanks to my neighbors aggressive trimming of branches he didn’t like. I would like to start some new branches to balance out the tree. How can I encourage new branches to start to grow on my willow tree?
(Answer)
Willow tree pruning helps promote healthy growth and balance the wood of this soft wood tree.
Here is a good general link with information on pruning:
Your tree seems to need a good pruning to reshape it. As a willow is a fast growing tree, your 15 years old tree should measure more than 30’ tall. If this is the case you may need a certified arborist. Please visit Landscape Ontario at https://landscapeontario.com/find-a-company
