(Answer)
Your plant is a Royal Purple Smokebush (botanical name: Cotinus coggygria ‘Royal Purple’).
The size of this shrub is 3 to 4.5m (10-15’) in height with a spread of 3 to 4.5 meters (10-15’). The large panicles of wispy purple-colored flowers produced in spring and early summer give the effect of a cloud of smoke.
Smokebush grows well in full sun in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils, but it will adapt to all except wet soils.
Smokebush can be used in a shrub or mixed border, as a single specimen or in groups. It is a good choice for a rocky hillside planting.
