Hello,
Kindly help me in identifying what type of tree this is?
Is it a lilac tree?
Thank you
The photo is a beautiful example of a Wisteria sp. vine in full bloom. The trailing clusters of lavendar pea-like blooms are one of the highlights of the late spring or summer garden.
The most important factor to consider when growing wisteria is location. Wisteria is a twining vine that requires sturdy support and regular pruning to keep it under control.
This vine requires full sun and deep, rich soil that is somewhat moist but will tolerate many soil conditions. Once planted, pruning is about the only important requirement for wisteria vine care. Since this vine is an aggressive grower, there’s no need for fertilizing and being drought tolerant, wisteria requires little watering.
Please read one of our previous posts which gives detailed information on the care and pruning of this spectacular vine: https://www.torontomastergardeners.ca/wp-admin/post.php?post=11541&action=edit
