About Roses

(Question)

I would like to find some roses that can tolerate part sun/shade. So mostly morning sun. I would like climbing/rambling, fragrant, and ever or repeat blooming, if possible. I prefer single flowers and not yellow.
I am in Toronto, and have good heavily amended soil.
Thanks!

Roses are sun-loving plants; they should be planted where they can get at least 6 hours of sun each day in soil with good drainage and where they receive sufficient air circulation to help leaves dry quickly whenever they get wet.

No rose will thrive and bloom without some sun, but there are roses that will do just fine with a minimum of 4 hours of direct sunlight.

Shrub roses would work well in a part shade garden. These roses come in a variety of colour and sizes. My advice is to go to your local garden center where they have a huge selection of shrub roses and pick out the ones best suited for your space.
