An earlier inquiry about when this plant was first introduced to Toronto went unanswered. It was said that it was first bred in the 1960s, but we did not when it became available to Toronto gardeners.
I’m curious to know.

After some research, unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be a recorded history on precisely when the species was introduced to Toronto specifically.
