Black Rose

Do we have a black rose?

No there are no black roses but there are some roses with blooms in very dark shades of crimson, maroon and purple. See the link below to a previous question about black roses. Note that although it has been reported that a rare black rose grows naturally in Turkey, there is no proof that such a rose exists. Often photos purporting to show black roses have been digitally manipulated. Some “black” roses have simply been coloured either with a coloured spray or a dye. Ink or black florist’s dye added to the water in a vase of roses will be taken up by the plant and turn the blossoms a darker colour.
