Why are these trees looking more brownish than pink and not dropping their leaves as in other years?

Yes, I have noticed on my isolation walks that some of the magnolia flowers have suddenly turned a brownish pink. We are experiencing some unusual weather this May. As you probably know, there have been a few nights of record low freezing temperatures. This has caused the flowers to lose their colour. They will drop off very soon and the leathery leaves of the magnolia will appear. The plant will not be affected.
