My son gave me a potted blue spruce that he used as an indoor Christmas Tree this year. The tree has been indoors for 7 weeks. It looks healthy and has some new growth. I would like to plant it in my garden in the spring. How do I take care for it now during the cold months? I live in the gta.

That is a lovely way to celebrate Christmas with a gift that keeps on giving! It just happens that we have had a similar query so here is a link to that answer. Keep in mind that the new growth is more delicate so can be easily damaged by freezing. The link to the Missouri Botanical Garden within this link gives some information on transplanting as well.
